Teslas are luxury cars and expensive to buy new. But the initial depreciation is considerable, after which the value plateaus at a highly affordable price point. A used Tesla therefore is excellent value, especially as there is almost zero ageing in the powertrain, brakes and battery. Acceleration will always remain the same as in a new car (0-100 kph in under 5 seconds), the range should remain close to 300 miles, but the ever-growing distribution of Tesla superchargers on the highways makes range less of an issue. Cold conditions reduce range, but then you just charge more often. The extra electricity costs to the power bill, if you charge mostly at home, are barely noticeable, and there are zero maintenance costs. Aluminum panels and bumpers mean that nothing ever rusts. (All you worry about are those darn windshield chips when passing trucks hurl rocks at you). Home charging requires 110v for slowest charging, 240v 40 amps (welding outlet) for overnight charging; or 60 amps using a Tesla wall connector for even faster charging.
